If you have been following the news lately, Iran has seized two British oil tankers that were passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
This came after they took down a U.S. drone a couple of weeks back, but why would Iran do this? Are they provoking the U.S.?
Tensions between the two sides have been growing ever since Trump pulled out of the nuclear deal. Iran was already in a proxy war with Saudi Arabia, a U.S. allay, in Yemen and they have been supporting other groups in Iraq and Syria that work against American interest an example would be Hezbollah in Lebanon who ended up entering the war in Syria.
What would be the reason for these aggressive actions? I would argue it is just for them to "not look weak." They can't go to war with the United States, or can they?
What do you guys think?
