Exodus from Another Debate Site

Hello, I've come from another debating website, Debate.org

The ownership of the site has let it decay to where it is almost exclusively spam that is out of control. We have a concentrated base of a handful of people, but many are hesitant to move.

I created an account on here to get more details plus also invite the site owner to make the case to the committed base of the site to abandon ship.

I implore you to take this offer as a site that I have been on, and a community I have been a part of is rapidly dying due to negligence of the site. Basically, we need a lifeline and so far thw only ones are what seems like email scams and already defunct and largely abandoned sites like Edeb8.

This site seems respectable and I like how the site owner is clearly visible and stated, and respectfully request assistance in convincing others this is a mkve worth making to save the community qe have thats holding on for dear life.

Thank you and i hope a response comes as shortly as possible.

Hello Buddamoose,

There are already a few people who are on this site that came from Debate.org. When I first started this journey I tried to get more interest and feedback on this website. The main problem is that I'm not a web developer and I'm forced to pay ePixal to develop the website. As you can see the website still isn't fully functional (and nearly unusable on a mobile device) after nearly a year of development. I have begun classes to learn how to develop this website myself and hopefully, in a few months, I can become enough of a programmer to finish FD myself and continue to implement all the features I want to implement. I'm realistic at this point though and don't foresee anyone from Debate.org coming over to help me test or use this website until it's more functional than it currently is. (I've posted over there many times, and I'm surprised you haven't heard of me or someone hasn't talked about this website over there)

I have put a lot of work into this website and will put a lot more work into it still. It would be very nice to have some people on here debating, and posting just so I can test FD out. If that doesn't happen I'll continue trudging along until FD is up and running. (I have a really hard time letting go, and this is very important to me)

So yes I accept your offer and would love to have some people to use/test FD out. Currently, I'm paying someone to promote posts on here just so the site gets some traffic while I learn to do it myself. It's going to happen, I just can't give you a time frame right now. If you want to get in on the ground floor and help out that would be great. The most interesting posts, in my opinion, are the bi-weekly discussion posts (hit the "discuss" button in the menu bar, and the site growth thread in this category, but I'm willing to run prize tournaments if you can people over here on a regular basis. (well once tournaments are functioning that is...)

Thanks for the response! I will be sure to pass this thread along to the community I'm a part of. I think youve made a wonderful pitch, and based upon what you have said, you truly care about getting the site going.

Hopefully this will help convince others to give this a try. Its twonky as you pointed out, but looks like it will suit our needs as a community wonderfully :)

It appears that most of the community has moved to DebateArt.com.
